Multi-warehouse: one stock, several depots

As a business grows, stock spreads across several sites. The Multi-warehouse module, in development, will let Webshop Engine manage quantities per depot and route each order to the right stock point.
What this module will bring
Managing several warehouses by hand multiplies the risk of error and stock-outs. By tracking stock depot by depot, this module will give a faithful picture of real availability, make the promises you give customers more reliable, and serve as the foundation for click & collect as well as delivery scheduling.
How it will work
The module will introduce the notion of a depot: each product will be able to hold a distinct stock per warehouse, and orders will be tied to the right stock point according to the chosen delivery or collection method. It will build on the real-stock management already in place (reservation at order, deduction at dispatch) and feed the Cash & carry and Delivery scheduling modules.
